National Memorial for Indian Soldiers post 1947

Today is the 26th of January 2008 when India celebrates its 58th Republic Day. During the republic day show today morning where the entire parade is shown, there was this small piece on how theres no national memorial for those brave and daring armed force soldiers who have given their lives to save our borders.
I as a citizen, no where connected to the armed forces except for a few friends who are armed forces’ children, it troubles me to see that we donot respect our safety at all. This is a question of pride and achievement and not of bureaucracy and two ministries not able to take decisions as the story said.
If people can get together and do something so that by the next republic day we can see this memorial being constructed and finally giving the due credit to the brave soldiers.
